The Future of Digital Finance
A report from the professional services giant Deloitte explains some of the things on the horizon for finance in light of the digital age. One of the predicted trends is fewer businesspeople becoming comfortable with basic finance and eschewing financial services. As automation becomes the norm, simple tasks that were once esoteric are being automated and self-service will become the norm.
Another prediction is the failure of many companies to align and integrate their data with digital trends. Automation will improve many functions in finance, but some CFOs are unaware of the extreme data needs and technical difficulties that will be associated with that change. Waiting for leaders to follow in that kind of environment will prove catastrophic for some.

Big Data and Analytics - What it Might Mean to Democracy?
Big data (harvesting statistics) and analytics has become the end-all for big business in predicting human behavior. More than just a tool for predicting the behaviors of clients, customers, and end users, big data has come to influence the way in which these populations conduct business, from making hotel reservations to shopping for groceries. However, big data stands to greatly impact more than consumer choices in that it has been a tool used in business decisions and resource allocations.
Mining for information is part of most business analysis, since businesses have to know their constituency to reach them. However, the use of big data and analytics also has the potential to influence profitability, completely changing the tone of business operations.
